Dog foods with no lamb (including hidden lamb meal)

Checked October 12, 2026

Altie checked 128 dog foods. 95 have no lamb in any form, not even lamb meal. They are below, by brand from A to Z.

Where does lamb hide on a label?

Lamb can be fresh lamb, lamb meal or lamb liver. Lamb meal is lamb that has been cooked, dried and ground.

These are the lamb words Altie finds on real labels:

• lamb
• lamb meal
• lamb kidney
• lamb liver

Which dog foods have no lamb?

Why are some foods not on this list?

Altie left out 20 more foods because it can't be sure. Their labels use a word that does not say which animal or plant it came from, like "animal fat" or "meat and bone meal". They might have lamb in them. They might not. Altie would rather leave a food out than call it safe when it does not know.

If your dog has a food allergy, talk to your vet before you change foods. Recipes change, so always read the bag.
